Classroom ExpectationsStudents will be expected to: :
1. Take care of personal needs during the passing period. 2. Enter the room only if the teacher is present. 3. Bring pencil, paper, and notebook to class daily. 4. Silence cell phones and keep them out of reach. 5. Be polite, follow instructions, and stay on task at all times. 6. Pick up and clean up your area before leaving the room. Classroom Performance Measures Grading Policy Daily Work = 50% Tests = 50% Corrections Students can make corrections to any tests below 70% to earn an additional half credit by following the correction guidelines stated by teacher. Corrections for daily assignments below 70% and extra credit assignments will be at teacher’s discretion. Absent Work Student will be responsible for talking to the teacher before or after class instruction to obtain and complete makeup work in a satisfactory manner within the time agreed upon by the student and teacher. It will not to be less than 24 hours for each day the student has been absent. Missing Work Assignments not turned in on the due date will be recorded as “M” or missing in the grade book. An “M” in the grade book is calculated as a zero. Project Based Assessments Projects will be assigned throughout the year for students to demonstrate knowledge of content. Details will be provided at least two weeks prior to due date. Fall Projects Project 1 - The Atom Project 2 - Race Car Discipline Management Process: General misbehavior will follow the procedure below. However, should a student’s behavior become so unruly, disruptive, or abusive that the teacher cannot teach, and the students in the classroom cannot learn, the student will be removed from the classroom. 1.
